1. Credit Karma: Access Your TransUnion Credit Score

Credit Karma is a user-friendly website that grants you access to your credit score and report from TransUnion, one of the primary credit bureaus in Canada. Signing up for a free account on their website or app is a breeze. You’ll need to provide some personal information like your name, date of birth, address, and Social Insurance Number (SIN). Once this is done, Credit Karma will verify your identity and retrieve your credit file from TransUnion.

On Credit Karma’s dashboard, you can view your credit score and report anytime. It’s worth noting that your credit score is updated weekly, while your report is refreshed monthly. This gives you an up-to-date view of your credit health. Moreover, Credit Karma offers valuable insights into the factors that affect your score, including payment history, credit utilization, credit age, inquiries, and derogatory marks. 2. Borrowell: Obtain Your Equifax Credit Score

Similar to Credit Karma, Borrowell is another reputable platform that grants you access to your credit score and report. However, Borrowell retrieves this information from Equifax, the other major credit bureau in Canada. Setting up a free account on their website or app requires providing personal details similar to the process with Credit Karma. Once you’ve completed the necessary steps, Borrowell will verify your identity and obtain your credit file from Equifax.

Once you’re logged into Borrowell’s dashboard, you can readily access your credit score and report, with weekly score updates and monthly report updates, just like Credit Karma. Borrowell also highlights the key factors that influence your credit score, enabling you to understand what contributes to its fluctuations. Additionally, the platform offers free credit monitoring to help you keep a close eye on your credit activities. What sets Borrowell apart is its personalized tips and recommendations to improve your credit health, giving you actionable insights on how to enhance your credit score over time.
